Top 10 Highlights of Spring Weekend

Jake Goodman

Spring Weekend 2016 was wild, and if you’re still trying to piece together just exactly what happened, B-Side is here to bring you all the highlights. Here’s our staff’s compilation of all the weirdly awesome moments from Brown’s one weekend to celebrate the weather and listen to some jamming' tunes.

#10 Binder 30th Anniversary Show

A perennial classic during Spring Weekend. Thank god he didn’t forget the Fast Food Song. Cheers to 30 years, Dave.

#9 13-year old Lip Syncing and the Zoo Gang

The pre-pubescent member of Fetty’s posse launched into a pre-Fetty anthem, complete with lip syncing and quirky dance moves. Also, Fetty’s gang once reached a number of 16 people on stage, most not even moving.

#8 Tink and Chicago

In what was probably the highlight set of Friday, Chicago-native Tink repped her hometown hard.

#7 Dildo on Stage

Enough said.

#6 "Feliz Navidad"

Mac Demarco’s cover of “Feliz Navidad” was bizarre, unexpected, and absolutely fantastic. It’s always great to celebrate the Christmas Cheer in April.

#5 Second Day Drummers

From Thundercat to Tinashe to Mac DeMarco, drummers were rocking out throughout Saturday’s performances. Their pulsing beats and furious fills kept Brunonians bumping to the beat.

#4 Video Feed with Dinosaurs

A weirdly awesome, dinosaur-infused video was playing during most of DeMarco’s set. An appropriately strange backdrop video featuring Brown’s beloved Spiritus made DeMarco’s performance just a little bit more eccentric.

#3 Thundercat performing "Complexion"

Everyone knew Thundercat would play his solo music but his performance of Kendrick’s “Complexion”, on which he plays bass, brought smiles to fans. Thundercat Stephen was awesome.

#2 Tinashe and Her Dancers

Danced her heart out and didn’t lose a breath. Fire emoji.

#1 Enter Sandman for years

Mac DeMarco’s not known as a metalhead, but when he and his band ripped into a lengthy “Enter Sandman”, they did Metallica justice.
